A good candidate has a specific need that may be improved with medical or surgical treatment. It is important to have realistic expectations, and to be psychologically and physically healthy.
This consideration is unique to each patient. However, the ideal patient has given considerable thought to their needs, and feels makeup, hairstyle, clothes, etcetera no longer mask the area.
The extent of the swelling or bruising depends on the particular procedure and the patients sensitivity. Most bruising only lasts one or two weeks. Swelling generally subsides after two or three weeks, but may take longer to completely subside.
You can participate in light aerobic activity within weeks after most surgeries. You may begin more strenuous activity and/or contact sports several weeks after that.
Most facial cosmetic procedures may be performed on an outpatient basis. This means you may be able to get to the hospital in the morning and return home on the same day.
