A graduate of NJIT with a pre-med at Rutgers University, Dr. Patel went on to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) – New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Patel completed his Post-Doctoral training as Chief Resident in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) at UMDNJ. He completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery accredited by the AAFPRS. Dr. Patel is double board certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery as well as being a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
His extensive training ranks him among the most specialized facial plastic surgeons in the nation. Dr. Patel’s facial plastic fellowship training has distinguished him from his colleagues. As a result of his prestigious fellowship, he was personally selected for the coveted position as Director of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training for Montefiore Residency Program (OHNS) in New York and for the Otolaryngology department at UMDNJ since 2008. Dr. Patel’s technical expertise and innovations in facial cosmesis earned him the Teacher of the Year award in 2005 and 2009.
